What is Rainbow?

“More than a club — it’s a sisterhood, a leadership experience, and a place to grow.”

Rainbow Girls: Not a Cult, Just a Whole Lot of Fun!

Arizona Rainbow Girls is a youth leadership organization for girls ages 10 to 20. As part of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, we’ve been helping young women across the country grow into confident leaders and compassionate citizens for over 100 years. Rainbow offers a safe, welcoming space where girls can be themselves while building skills through service, sisterhood, and leadership.

Who we are

Rainbow is more than a club — it’s a place where girls take charge, make decisions, and discover their potential. In each local group, called an Assembly, the girls don’t just participate — they lead. They run their own meetings, organize service projects, plan social events, and set goals for the group. Adult advisors are always nearby to support and encourage, but the heart of Rainbow belongs to the girls. This girl-led model gives members real opportunities to learn teamwork, event planning, public speaking, and leadership — not just through lessons, but through experience. Whether she’s naturally outgoing or a little shy, every girl is given space to grow and shine in her own way.

But Rainbow is about more than building skills — it’s about building character and community. It’s a sisterhood where girls make lifelong friendships, laugh together, support each other, and learn the value of service and respect. It’s a place where they feel seen, heard, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves. For parents, Rainbow offers a safe, structured environment where your daughter will be mentored, challenged, and celebrated. She’ll grow more confident, more capable, and more connected — and she’ll have fun doing it. Because in Rainbow, girls don’t just grow up — they grow strong.

What we Believe

Our core values shape everything we do in Rainbow. We believe that every girl has the potential to be a leader — not just someday, but right now. Rainbow teaches girls to lead with integrity, to speak with confidence, and to act with compassion. Through hands-on experience and positive peer support, our members learn what it means to be responsible, kind, respectful, and courageous. These aren’t just words we say — they’re values we live by in every meeting, activity, and moment together.

Rainbow is more than individual growth — it’s about belonging to something bigger. In this sisterhood, girls lift each other up, celebrate each other’s wins, and walk together through challenges. Whether it’s volunteering in the community or supporting a fellow member, every Rainbow experience is a chance to grow — not just as individuals, but as a team. Here, leadership isn’t about standing out alone — it’s about standing together with purpose and pride.

Rainbow In Action

Whether we’re volunteering at a local shelter, organizing a fun night for younger members, or representing Arizona at national events, Rainbow Girls stay active, involved, and energized. Every activity is more than just something to do — it’s a meaningful opportunity to grow. Through community service, leadership retreats, and social events, our members build confidence, discover new talents, and form bonds that can last a lifetime.

Rainbow is where learning meets excitement. Girls take on real responsibilities and lead real projects — all in an environment that supports their success. From planning fundraisers to speaking in front of a crowd, every moment helps build skills they’ll carry into the future. But more than that, Rainbow is fun. It’s laughter with friends, joy in service, and the thrill of knowing you're part of something that matters. It’s where girls don’t just belong — they thrive.

How it works

Each Assembly is led by its own group of officers, giving every girl the chance to step into a leadership role. Positions rotate regularly so that all members have the opportunity to learn, grow, and discover their strengths. Whether it’s presiding over a meeting, organizing an event, or guiding younger members, every office teaches responsibility, teamwork, and confidence. Adult mentors, called Advisors, are always close by to offer encouragement and support — but the girls are the ones who make the decisions and bring the ideas to life.

Rainbow also honors tradition and symbolism in a way that’s both meaningful and memorable. Our ceremonies are more than just rituals — they are carefully designed experiences that teach lifelong values like faith, hope, charity, and service. As girls grow in Rainbow, they can earn awards, receive recognition for their achievements, and even represent their Assembly at the state or national level. Whether she dreams of being a leader or simply wants to belong to something beautiful and uplifting, Rainbow gives her the tools — and the stage — to shine.

Why Join

Joining Rainbow opens the door to something truly special — a place where friendships are real, opportunities are endless, and every girl is empowered to grow. It’s where shy girls find their voice, confident girls sharpen their skills, and all girls learn that leadership isn’t about being perfect — it’s about showing up, trying your best, and learning along the way. Rainbow creates an environment where girls can step forward without fear, knowing they’ll be supported, encouraged, and surrounded by a sisterhood that truly cares.

Whether your daughter is searching for connection, purpose, or simply a place to belong, Rainbow offers something lasting. The lessons she’ll learn — responsibility, resilience, public speaking, service, kindness — go far beyond the walls of an Assembly room. She’ll carry them into high school, college, careers, and life. In Rainbow, girls don’t just follow — they lead. And in doing so, they discover who they are, who they can become, and how much of a difference they’re capable of making.
